How We're Giving Back In June

It's (been) time to give a damn. Complacency cannot be an option for us. We want to step it up and do more to actively support our Black community. We are starting by giving back through donations.
Black Lives Matter.
This month, 10% of our sales will be donated between two amazing organizations in Kansas City fighting for change and equity for Black people and the LGBTQ+ community: KC Anti-Violence Project and Race Project KC. We want to share these two organizations with you.
Race Project KC is an immersive social justice initiative focused on the role of racism in the history of the United States and, more specifically, the Kansas City area. The Project consists of a series of opportunities for students to learn Kansas City and Johnson County’s story of structural racism and how it continues to impact us today; to undergo unique experiences related to that story; to encounter experts on the topics; to learn vocabulary for talking about racism; to build relationships with peers they might not otherwise meet; and to share their own stories as they relate to the issues.
Race Project KC hopes to create collective knowledge of how we came to be a segregated community and awareness of how we can shape a more positive, inclusive future for all.

KC Anti-Violence Project provides dedicated services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) youth and adults, throughout Missouri and Kansas, who have experienced trauma, violence, harassment or neglect. Through direct advocacy, professional training and community education, we work to prevent and respond to domestic violence, sexual violence and hate crimes.
We thank KCAVP for their dedication for equity for all races, genders, and sexual identities.
We know this is just a start. We look forward to doing more and we would love to hear from you about initiatives/organizations/resources you are involved with/utilizing.
Peace & Love,
SWJ
