CHEERS TO STRONG WOMEN: Week 3

We are halfway through February.... how did that happen? Week 2 was amazing and we were busy filling Valentine's Day orders all while giving back to organizations like, Planned Parenthood, Malala Fund, and Hope House.

The ladies in the line up this week are beautiful inside and out and I cannot wait for you to meet them.

Abbi Miller

1.  Who are you and what do you do?

I'm Abbi! I live for hanging with cool peeps doing rad things in the world, and know that staying inspired is so important. That's a big part of the work I do, guiding women to their intuition so they can feel how they want to feel. I've been self-employed for 19 years doing everything from leading yoga retreats in Greece to personal nutrition coaching, business coaching, and speaking!

2. What does being a strong woman mean to you?

It means listening to your gut. It means fiercely protecting your inner knowing, and acting without seeking approval to follow it.

3. What advice would you give to the teenage version of yourself?

You are cooler than you know! Your beauty does not define your worth! It gets better, stay tuned. And back to my previous answer, keeping listening to your intuition, girl.

4. Name a woman in your life that has inspired you to be the woman you are today.

Dana Flynn, co-founder of Laughing Lotus Yoga Studio. She is an incredible teacher and playful wild child. I adore her fervent approach to life, and her fiery commitment to our evolution.

5. Tell me a fact, secret, or something weird you do.

My first career was a musical theatre actress. I've toured Southeast Asia in the international tour of the Broadway show, Grease. I can still do the Hand Jive like it was yesterday :)

6. What is your favorite piece from Sierra Winter Jewelry?

Oh, hands down obsessed with the gold Renegade Ring!

7. What is one of your favorite organizations that supports and encourages strong women?

I learn about more each day! I always love Planned Parenthood, and also the local organization here in KC called MOSCA, which works to counter the effects of sexual assault on women and children. It's important work, and I'm honored to give a portion of my proceeds to both of these non profits.

Subrina Heyink

1. Who are you and what do you do?

I am Subrina Heyink and I work as a vintage buyer and curator for my online vintage shop Subrina Heyink Vintage. I also work as a wardrobe stylist.

2. What does being a strong woman mean to you?

I have a hard time with the term 'strong woman' because it feels like it boxes women in. It feels like I'm unable to breakdown about things that really affect me. I perceive being strong as being able to ask for what you want, to say no to things that do not please me, and unapologetically exist.

3. What advice would you give the teenage version of yourself?

Motherhood will be the most challenging thing you'll ever do.

4. Name a woman in your life that has inspired you to be the woman you are today.

Diana Cenat, my closest friend and confidant. She validated me and has made me feel that I am worth everything good that I couldn't convince myself that I deserved. Our friendship has made me grow in ways I never imagined. She pushes me to always be my most authentic, true self no matter what.

5. Tell me a fact, secret, or something weird you do.

I love to dance in public! It makes me feel human, approachable and always lightens my mood.

6. What is your favorite piece from Sierra Winter Jewelry?

I love the Gypsy Earrings.

7. What is one of your favorite organizations that supports and encourages strong women?

This isn't a charity but my friend, Maria Oliveira is working on raising money to help DACA recipients with their applications.

Sierra Miramontez

1. Who are you and what do you do?

My name is Sierra Miramontez. I am a consultant at EY (Ernst & Young) and am a budding entrepreneur in Kansas City.

2. What does being a strong woman mean to you?

Being a strong woman to me comes in many forms, and it has changed over time. In my early 20's I thought it was women who decided to blaze their own path and embrace their individuality, even if others around them weren't doing the same. Now in my late 20's, I am realizing strength is in women who have failed and continued to get back up. Women who are comfortable having difficult conversations or the new mom who gets up at 5:45am to pump in the morning before she goes to work. But most importantly, a strong woman to me is defined by a woman who wholeheartedly enjoys helping other women being successful and helps celebrate their accomplishments as well as their own. These women are the first to say "how can I help" and secure enough to ask for help when needed.

3. What advice would you give the teenage version of yourself?

I would tell myself that failing is a blessing in disguise and to embrace your personal strengths, it is what makes you stand out.

4. Name a woman in your life that has inspired you to be the woman you are today.

I would have to say two women and they happen to be my sisters. The risks I've taken and growth I've seen in myself is all because I wanted to make sure they always had a role model, ultimate connector, but ultimately someone who challenges them to be uncomfortable. They have taught me how to give grace, be patient, and unconditionally love those in your life no matter what happens.

5. Tell me a fact, secret, or something weird you do.

I have a shoe obsession. :)

6. What is your favorite piece from Sierra Winter Jewelry?

My silver Renegade Ring

7. What is one of your favorite organizations that supports and encourages strong women?

I would have to say that EY (Ernst & Young) has been my favorite organization- by this I mean I have never felt more empowered as a professional woman to grow, give back and reach for innovation until I joined this firm. Through this company I am able to see first hand the impact it has on creating amazing women of tomorrow.
